Bob’s Sabbatical

Day 3.1, September 2, 2009

 

Oops – before some geography buff challenges me, I need
to do some work on conversion tables.  I
think I turned meters into yards, instead of feet in my earlier post
today.  I have been looking at that hill
all afternoon, thinking, “That can’t possibly be a mile and a half high.”  I was right! 
I went back and recalculated.  The
Mount of the Beatitudes 1,816 feet above the Sea of Galilee.  Hence, my athletic feat of this morning is
far less awesome than it first seemed.  I
may have walked a far piece, but I only climbed a little over a third of a
mile.  Mea culpa!

Back to my reading, now that my conscience is at rest
again.
